Dark Matter

Dark Matter was my first Blake Crouch book and it blew me away. I read it close to publication, before the Apple show and before the multiverse became everyone's favorite plot device, and the timing probably helped.

Parallel worlds have always pulled me in, and superposition is something I find interesting on its own, so Crouch was working a stacked deck with me. What I liked is that he put real science behind the premise instead of waving at it to get the plot moving. What kept me reading was simpler than the physics. I wanted Jason to get home. All those doors and all those worlds, and the thing I cared about was whether he made it back to his kitchen.

The show is fine. The book is better. I know exactly how that sounds.
