The simple reason for having a Books board on Recco is that I love to read. Very rarely if ever do I look back on time reading as time wasted. I tend to feel more creative the more I read, and don't trust people who don't have books in their house. I have a strong preference for hardcover books, and only break down to buy a paperback if I must. I read primarily fiction, but the books listed in the non-fiction section below are some of my most gifted books to others, and ones I often recommend. I read primarily science fiction / fantasy / space things as you'll see by the current list. I love the feeling of finding a new author I enjoyed with lots of books to read, and I hope you get at least one of those from the books below.
