Field Leader — The best in its field right now. Holds the top spot until something beats it.
A man and his ex-girlfriend's cat survive an alien apocalypse by becoming dungeon-crawling gladiators on live TV. It sounds absurd because it is. It's also genuinely one of the most propulsive things I've read. Fresh, funny, hard to put down.
