Yeah, everyone likes this book. I'm not going to pretend I don't just because it's popular, that's a stupid reason to dock anything.
It's fast. Rubin's clear enough that you're never slogging, and somewhere in it I started thinking about creativity differently. One of the few books I kept a pen on hand for start to finish, marking up the margins.
It's also one I gift the most, to friends, on first dates, whenever. I like handing someone a book that might get them thinking about something they hadn't. This is that. And if you're stuck for inspiration, it holds up to going back to.
