The Inward Trilogy
Yung Pueblo is the pen name of Diego Perez, who built a huge following writing short, plain poems and prose about healing, letting go, and knowing yourself. The trilogy (Inward, Clarity & Connection, The Way Forward) moves roughly from self-love, to understanding why you react the way you do, to showing up healthier in your relationships. It's a quick read, mostly because the pieces are short, but it's not really about reading fast. It's about sitting with it.
Here's the thing: Perez writes all this from years of silent meditation. I don't meditate. I don't practice mindfulness, nothing against it, it's just not me. And it still lands. That's kind of the whole case for it. You don't have to be on some spiritual path for this to mean something, it'll meet you wherever you actually are.
I go back to it at the start of most years to get my head right.
