Gallivanter G/LOCK Leather Golf Shoe

The G/LOCK Gallivanter is G/FORE’s flagship shoe with the replaceable softspikes, TourFlex Pro, not the molded-sole version. Pebble full-grain leather that they list as waterproof, and in an athletic fit. There is padded mesh on the inside so air can actually get to your foot (something I didn’t mind at all playing in Florida). The footbed is their triple-density foam with the little nubs, washable, and they also say it is antimicrobial. It also comes with an extra pair of laces in the box. Outsole is TPU and EVA. Fair warning from them, not from me: it runs narrow, they tell you to size up.

I did not size up and honestly find them incredibly comfortable. That being said, now that I know they advise going a bit larger I would go to the 11.5 instead of the 11 to give a bit more space in the shoe without me slipping in it. I play most of my golf at my local 9-hole walking course where I am a member. I generally don’t wear spiked shoes on that course, but for the days that I like to remind myself that I am indeed not a great golfer and take to a full 18 with a cart I always bring my G/FOREs on the round. I remember the first time I put them on and was blown away at how comfortable the insole was compared to any other golf shoe (or most regular shoes, for that matter).

Mine are in white leather, so I would recommend you have some shoe wipes around to keep them from looking too beat up, but they clean nicely without any issue. If I had any complaint about them it is that the laces almost feel brittle, and as they have broken in I keep having this feeling that when I pull the laces tight they might snap (this has not happened). As I write this review though I am reminded that they did come with a spare set of laces and perhaps it’s just time that I do replace them. As a leather shoe they are also going to break in over time and that is exactly what my experience has been. There was a noticeable difference in my traction while swinging by having a set of spikes, especially for those early morning tee times when the fairways are wet with dew. I have gotten caught in a downpour (inevitable during Florida golf) and the washable insoles here are helpful in the dry-out process. I also didn’t see the leather getting wrecked or ruined, which gave me faith in their waterproof claims.

This shoe is a clear field leader for me for the golf shoes category. I would confidently buy a pair again and find myself also wanting to invest in a pair of the spikeless shoes as well. Price point on these can be a little high coming in over $200 for a pair, but I would encourage you to keep an eye out for the inevitable holiday sales / clearance events and jump on a pair quickly. You may also be able to find a pair on 2nd Swing when they do their big clearance events for clubs and attire like they did back in August 2026.
