Underarm Stick
This one's polarizing, and whether you'll like it comes down to preference more than quality. Not my thing, could easily be yours.
Carpe’s page says most deodorants only mask odor, and that they stop sweat at the source, kill odor-causing bacteria, and nourish skin. They call that triple action. They also say dermatologist recommended, 20% aluminum sesquichlorohydrate, quick-drying, and best if you put it on at night. On sweat, I can give them the first part. It worked well enough, but I never felt like wow I want to keep using this.
I did use it at night like the page says but going four days with no antiperspirant is only okay if I do not have plans with other people and probably eating a much healthier diet. I am not comfortable using it once every few days. From a product standpoint I do not get the combo. If it lasts that long, why is the stick so big, and why encourage people to buy so much of it all at once.
One of my biggest pet peeves was that I found it took a while to actually come out. Then after applying and capping it again I'd come back the next day to see a ton of the deodorant pushed through. It became a ritual of wiping off the excess goo every time I wanted to apply. Then there was the amount of time it took to get the deodorant out if you opened a new stick. If I were in a rush I swear I would end up leaving without it on and stopping to pick up something on the way. Just make the packaging smaller if you are going to leave that much space for me to actually get the product.
I bought during one of their deals which gave a big discount, but also signed me up for recurring shipment without me knowing. I probably wasn't paying attention. That is how I ended up with about eight sticks. This has been the default for a few months now, but only because I was too stubborn to replace something after getting trapped into having that much of it. This would not have been a repeat buy for me if I had known I did that. I think a lot of my discomfort for the product could be resolved in better packaging and design but I don't want to buy a product I end up feeling I waste a ton of between uses.
The scents were fine. Sandalwood, Unscented, Lavender Citrus, and Fresh Powder. Of the four I got in my pack I can't really say anything was memorable. I just didn't enjoy the experience of using it compared to other options that are available. I still have more of it, and I expect something else coming into Recco will replace it in the rotation.
This is getting a rare Matter of Taste from me as a rating. I can see people giving this a go and being happy / satisfied with it, but that person is not me.
